Many of you know that Cannon was referred to a craniofacial surgon. We went last Friday and found out that Cannon will have to undergo surgery. He told us it needs to wait another 3-4 months because the
surgery is a five hour surgery and Cannon needs to be old enough to
withstand the anesthetic. He told us that this was a very serious surgery
but he has had a high success rate. Cannon will lose a significant amount
of blood and so we can donate blood to be given to him during the surgery.
What happens during surgery is the doctor will remove the forehead and brow
bones, reconstruct them using those bones or bones from another part of the
skull. The reconstruction should leave him with a flatter forehead and more
room in the skull for the brain to grow. He told us that without surgery,
Cannon's forehead would remain the same size and point while the rest of his
head would continue to grow, leaving him looking very deformed. Also,
without surgery, there is a chance that pressure would become too great
within his skull from the brain which could cause some major complications
later. We do not have a date set for the surgery yet but are thinking it
will be sometime in December.
Thank you for the support you have given to us and also now as our family is undergoing this trial. We are confident
everything will be okay but I am anxious for it to all be over with so the

It's hard being parents isn't it?! We just love our children so darn much, it hurts like heck to see them have to suffer at all. I'm glad you have an excellent doctor to make everything good for our little Cannon. We'll pray for Cannon AND for both of you to feel peace. It will be OK!!! Lots of love! Renee'
